Writers get published in a variety of ways, from pamphlets to screenplays to books. Being a magazine writer requires a certain set of journalistic skills, plus the ability to handle the financial and psychological demands of the job. You may be a gifted writer, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will be a good magazine writer.
