Energy of Roasting

Roasted foods contain warming energy, which activates the body. Dry roasted grains, roots, or teas contains bitter flavor, which stimulates heart fire energy. The process of roasting also adds heat to food, which is beneficial for weakened conditions that need strengthening energy. Roasted grains also absorb more water and become softer when cooked.
