Grain Coffee

An ideal substitute for coffee, caffeine-free grain coffee is made from roasted grains (barley, rice, or rye), beans (aduki beans or chickpeas), and roots (burdock, chicory, beet, or dandelion root). Bitter grain coffee can help stimulate weakened heart conditions, like irregular heartbeat.


  • 1 cup spring water
  • 1 teaspoon grain coffee powder
  • Almond Milk or amasake, to taste
  1. In a saucepan, bring 1 cup water to a boil.

  2. Add grain coffee powder to cup. Pour water over grain coffee.

  3. Stir in Almond Milk or amasake, to taste.
