Avoiding Caffeine
Coffee cakes are meant to be enjoyed with a steaming mug of coffee, but you should avoid coffee, tea, and soft drinks with caffeine. Caffeine can lower your blood sugar, causing you to crave sugar and sweets. Instead, eat this coffee cake with a glass of fat-free skim milk or a delicious smoothie or shake.
