The Bonds of Love

Feeling a bond or connection with your significant other is a comforting reassurance of what you share with each other. Couples in love strengthen their bonds in many ways. Formal dedications include promise rings, engagement rings, hand fasting ceremonies, and marriage. Celebrating anniversaries or renewing vows also strengthen the bonds between two people who choose to be together.

Two Rings, Two Hearts

This magickal ceremony reinforces the bond two people in love have chosen to make. It only works for those already in a committed relationship or marriage. Perform this ceremony during an anniversary or in times where you both feel the need to reconnect or strengthen the existing bond. This spell requires both participants.

Ingredients

2 rings

1 large white pillar candle

spool of thin pink ribbon

1 large single terminated rose quartz point

long matches

Each ring signifies the love you both share and consented to give. The large white candle is the pillar of your strength and bond, blessed by Spirit and unconditional love. The rose quartz also signifies the love you share and will be used to continue to empower and nurture it. The pink ribbon will unite everything under the blessings of you and Spirit.

  • Both participants ground and center. Set up a small table in the love corner of your home. Decorate with pictures and memorabilia. Place the large white pillar candle in the center.

  • Both participants let their hands hover over the white candle. Allow your hands to touch, feeling the flow of universal energy. Visualize bright white light and Spirit flowing through both of you into the candle. Visualize the candle becoming luminous with the purity of unconditional love.

  • Have one person hold the rose quartz. The other person clasps his or her hands over the first person's. Visualize the love you share. Feel the joy and happiness it brings both of you. Feel its supply become bountiful and empowered.

  • Place the rose quartz point side up directly in front of the pillar so that they touch.

  • Place the rings and a long length of pink ribbon on the table.

  • One person takes both rings in hand. The other places his or her hands around the first person's. Visualize your relationship. See each other together, happy, and full of joy and love. Feel the bond that already exists there. Charge your feelings with universal energy by thinking of the attributes you love about each other and why you share this bond.

  • Tie the rings together with pink ribbon.

  • Tie the rings around the pillar candle and the quartz so the rings are in the front. Try to tie a bow.

  • Each person must take a long match and light the candle at the same time. Repeat the following incantation:

“By the power of love and universal light,

We both remember our love this night.

The love we share united in song,

Ever patient, kind, loving, and strong.”

  • Face each other, basking in the candlelit glow and hold hands. Say whatever sentiments you wish and enjoy an unburdened night together with acts of love and bonding. Relight the candle any time to remind yourselves and re-bless the love you both share.

Essential

The rings you choose don't have to be fancy. Go to a local craft store that sells wedding crafts and choose two small finger-sized rings. For even more connection, let your mate help you choose. For something more special, find some inexpensive rings at a fair or craft show.
