Herbal Brews and Teas
Herbal brews and teas are added tools to help you on your quest for love. All of these teas require a diffuser because they use loose leaves. For large batches of tea, you can create a cheesecloth bundle and brew it in a pot. If you want to increase potency, get a few gallons of spring water and leave them out under a full moon to let the light infuse your water with moon magick and goddess energy.

Sun Tea
This recipe is a spin-off of Earl Grey tea. This tea, infused by solar magick, uses fresh mint, bergamot, and loose leaf black tea. Call down the sun to bless it and empower it with radiance for attraction between you and your mate-to-be. This recipe makes a large batch for you to enjoy hot or cold.
Ingredients
½ cup loose black tea
6 sprigs of fresh mint
1 orange or bergamot rind
1/3 cup honey
cheesecloth
24-ounce glass jar or carafe
Prepare a bundle with the tea, mint, orange or bergamot rind, and honey.
Add the bundle to the jar and fill it with water. For added orange flavor, squeeze a bit of the juice into the jar.
Cover the jar and place it in full sun on a hot day. Be prepared to leave your tea in the sun for a few hours, depending on the brew strength and the strength of the sun. Keep a watchful eye on your jug so you can move it as the sun moves during the day. Make sure your brew is exposed to the full strength of the sun to allow for maximum solar magick.
Invoke the power of solar energy and call down the sun.
Close your eyes. Ground and center.
Feel the universal energy flow into your body and out through you hands.
Place your hands over the jar and start to visualize an energy ball. Focus the universal energy into making that ball large and beautiful. When you feel it is ready to burst from spinning and charging, visualize the top of the ball opening into a funnel.
Watch the funnel grow large and let it flow up to the sun. Feel the strength of that funnel grow and spin all the way through the sky, higher and higher.
Visualize the opening of that funnel engulfing the sun. Feel it wrap around the warmth and strength of the great burning ball. Feel the nurturing of its warmth.
Begin to pull the energy of radiance and warmth from the sun down through the funnel. Draw it into the brew.
Recite the following incantation:
“Through radiance and warmth this tea will glow, And whenever it is drunk thy radiance will show. Bless in light and solar attraction This tea now infused for love and affection.” Visualize the funnel releasing the sun and gently guide it back down to a ball of energy where it began.
Allow the ball of energy to dissipate into the brew, where it will stir and release the last bits of energy from the sun.
As you call down the sun, never allow your eyes to focus directly on the sun. This is very harmful to your eyes.
Reading Tea Leaves
Tasseography, the art of reading tea leaves, dates to early China. You can use any homemade loose leaf tea recipe to do a bit of divination to discover what lies in store for you and your new love.
Any kind of divination uses symbols and shapes to tell something about the querent. When you read tea leaves you will most often see simple shapes. Do a bit of research to fully understand all the symbols behind the shapes to help interpret your reading. The following is the basic process for tea reading.
Choose your tea and brew the leaves without a bundle or tea ball. This must be done so that the leaves are free for divining.
Pour boiled water over the loose tea leaves in a white, wide-brimmed tea cup with no markings. Using a dark color or a patterned cup will interfere with the divination process.
Drink as much of the tea as you can. As you drink, ponder the situation or question at hand. Drink until you have just enough brew left to swirl the tea leaves around.
Swirl the tea and leaves around the cup in a clockwise motion.
Examine the tea leaves and see what shapes you can make out. Write them down on paper. You may see letters, shapes, or even things that look like animals. Be open to whatever you may see.
When you have your list, research the symbol meanings to see what lies in store for you!
