Releasing Anger and Hurt
Releasing anger and pain is an essential part of healing your life. Fear of releasing anger and pain can cause blocks, which can result in physical illness or unhealthy feelings. Holding on to anger and pain for too long will manifest in physical ways.
Take note of recurring physical ailments that may trouble you, such as chronic headaches, backaches, and skin issues. They may be physical manifestations of anger and pain. While you may not always be completely free of anger and pain, releasing toxic levels allows you to keep an open channel for love.
To Be Free
Call upon the god and goddess for balance and assistance in this spell, which targets the self to release anger and hurt. It also provides consolation to know in your heart that everything will be fine. This spell will be performed over a two-day period, so allow ample time for each candle to burn to completion.
Ingredients
sage
black votive candle with clear glass holder
white votive candle with clear glass holder
black ribbon
white ribbon
Essential
Votive holders come in many styles, but it is essential that you choose clear glass for this spell. This ensures that the intent of each candle is not clouded by anything and the energy that burns down can be released clearly through the candle into the ribbons.
These ingredients represent leaving anger behind and welcoming light. You will release the anger into the black candle and fill the void by absorbing the truth and purity from the white candle. The ribbons embody those intentions. You will leave the black ribbon as a submissive offering to spirit and carry the white ribbon with you so that you can always feel the comfort that comes from the purity of spirit.
Performing the first step on a Sunday is the best day for any god ritual. It is also the best day for any powerful success spell and for healing. Performing the second stage of the spell on a Monday is best for any spell using goddess energy. It is also the best day to promote peace, healing, and purification. Perform this spell during the full moon phase of December for hope and healing.
On a Sunday, light the sage to accompany you through this release. Ground and center. Contemplate what it is you are about to do, and ready yourself to release anger. Even if you can't remember why you are angry or how you came to be angry, understand that you need to release anger to feel at peace and be healthy.
Place the candles in the holders. Tie the black ribbon around the glass holder with the black candle, and tie the white ribbon around the glass holder with the white candle.
Open yourself to spirit. Humble and surrender yourself to help and healing. Create a heart link between you and spirit so that you may receive healing and support while you release. Call upon the god:
“To the god I hail and welcome you. Be with me now as I go through Leaving anger and pain behind. Comfort and aid me during this time.” Let your hands hover above the black candle. Begin to feel the strong energy of the god flow through you. Visualize all your anger as the color black flows out through your hands with the aid of the god. See the black energy fill the candle.
If you need to cry, scream, or even verbalize while you are doing this, feel safe and surrounded by his light, and know that it is completely okay to do this. Sometimes it even aids in the release.
Light the candle and let the flame burn down completely. As you light the candle, say, “So Mote It Be.”
On the second day, Monday, light some sage and begin to contemplate what you are about to do. Ground and center. Ready yourself to fill your being with love and light to replace the anger. Know this will fill your heart and take the place of any hole you may be feeling after the previous day's release.
Open yourself to spirit. Humble and surrender yourself to help and healing. Create a heart link between you and spirit so that you may receive healing and support while you release. Call upon the goddess:
“To the goddess I hail and welcome you. Be with me now as I go through Allowing the love and light inside. Comfort and aid me during this time.” Let your hands hover above the white candle. Feel the energy of the goddess flow through you. Feel her unconditional comfort and love. Visualize her bright white light. Feel the energy flow out through your hands with her aid and compassion. See the white energy fill you and the candle. Keep pouring the light into this candle while the goddess strengthens you.
Light the candle and repeat the words, “So Mote It Be!” with conviction.
After the candle has burned completely, take the black and white ribbons off the votive holders.
Bring the black ribbon to an outside sacred space where you can tie it to a tree or bury it in the ground. This is the last step in your final release. Feel the finality of letting go completely, and ask that the god take the negative energy away and transmute it into the earth.
Take the white ribbon and tie it in a bow. This is the finality of accepting the unconditional love you deserve. Pin it to your coat or shirt close to your heart. Wear it as a constant reminder that the love and light of the Great Spirit reside in you and will always replace the holes left by anger and pain.
