Most Cancers tend to see the world through rose colored glasses. Although they can see many things of life clearly, love doesn't happen to be one of them. This doesn't stop Cancer, however. Unlike many people, he usually finds what he's looking for in a partner. Being wildly swept away is extremely important to Cancer. He wants the romance of a lifetime and usually gets it.

Once Cancer is in love, too, she tends to stay in love. She's good at keeping her mate — she knows just how to give him what he needs. Once she sees what she wants, she grabs on and doesn't give up so easily. She feels, therefore she is. However, if she's jilted, it may also take her a long time to let go.

The Long Haul

Needless to say, Cancer makes a wonderful love partner and parent. He dotes, and he's affectionate. He might even cook up a storm. He has lots of interesting friends from all walks of life. In a mate, he looks for security — both emotionally and financially, though his feelings of the heart will always win out over stock holdings. He also wants a woman whom he can greatly respect, one he'll be proud to call his.

Cancers, early on in life, can have many flings and adventures. They're curious and experimental many times — they like to try it all out. A less evolved Cancer may settle down too soon for fear of being alone. More mature Cancers usually wait for “the one” and live very happy, fulfilled lives. Many times Cancer can be quite faithful (though Cancer men are less so), though if she feels she's not with her future hubby, she won't think twice about cheating or dating two, even three other guys at once.

Cancer woman is impressed with worldly men, but she also likes her men to be simple in some way. She's attracted to men who calm her and who are generally tranquil. She'll go for a man who looks great in jeans but who also cleans up well at a moment's notice — should she have to present him to the Queen. She likes a man who's sexy from the inside out, one who's discreet, not a poser, and certainly regal to those looking on him from the outside.

Cancer man also goes for sexy. Secretly, or for short periods of time, he may have relations with women who dress on the more suggestive side. Though he doesn't always admit it, Cancer man likes to be shocked and challenged. However, this is not usually the woman he chooses to marry. The woman who is to be Cancer man's partner for life will almost certainly be the one he can take home and present to Mama — a “good girl.”
