Planning a celebration, whether for family, childhood friends, or friends from any memorable stage in your life, is a joyous gift to give yourself and your circle of support. If your family or a friend wants to help you with the reunion/celebration, let them help. Getting friends involved by having them tell you their favorite memory for you to compile and share at the party is a gift you can give to your guests.

Plan a creative family reunion. For example, if you are of Italian descent, plan for everyone to bring a favorite Italian dish that they remember from their childhood. If you are of Irish descent, you may want to have your reunion at an Irish cultural center or share old pictures of your ancestors, or better yet have the reunion in Ireland, or wherever your family roots began.
