Commit to Growth, Not Perfection

Going through breast cancer treatment is a journey of growth — but it's not one that you would have voluntarily chosen. Having breast cancer subjects you to a new way of life, new concerns, new worries, and new situations. These challenges are what contribute to personal growth in areas that may have been foreign to you before your breast cancer diagnosis. When perfection is your goal, you set yourself up for disappointment. A thinking process that promotes a black and white approach is not constructive. Breast cancer is grey and there is no perfect way to treat it.

Essential

Breast cancer is actually grey and not black or white. The whole breast cancer experience is many different shades of grey. Personal growth occurs most when you meet life challenges and you learn to cope in a way that works for you.
