Diet
Diet is not technically a complementary therapy, but more of a foundation for creating a good environment within your body that will promote health and healing and prepare your body for wellness. Diet is about choices that promote health with anti-inflammatory foods and low glycemic foods that lower sugar levels to reduce the levels of IGF (insulin growth factor). Making better choices helps create an environment that is anti-cancer in nature.
Experts believe that a typical anti-cancer diet should consist of fish; organic meat; omega-3 eggs; organic dairy products; multigrain breads; vegetables; fruits; olive, canola, or flaxseed oil; and fresh herbs and spices. Choosing these healthy food alternatives helps create an anti-cancer environment within your body. It is recommended that you eat sugar and white flour sparingly, instead using agave nectar and multigrain flour. Avoid all hydrogenated vegetable fats — trans fats — and all animal fats loaded with omega-6s.
