For years we've appreciated the saying, “Change happens.” What makes it appealing is not whimsy but its universal applicability. In the real world, a better authority is Ecclesiastes, from the Old Testament: All is vanity because everything comes to an end. You can nod in theory, but for a leader, this concept has significance. No matter how you organize a team, no matter what processes are in place, no matter how many problems you solve, all of it will end. It's a reality we all face, and leaders must know how to work through change if they want to succeed.
