Strengthen Self-Care and Eliminate Self-Sabotage
One of the most vital aspects of working with the Law of Attraction requires that you take care of yourself. Self-care begins with self-nourishment and self-acceptance. Only when you have these things will you find meaning in all the other things you desire to attract. A million dollars won't mean much if you are too ill to spend it. The love of your life can show up, but if you aren't emotionally healthy enough to receive him, the relationship won't satisfy you for long.
Turn Love upon Yourself
Love yourself as though you were showing love to your spouse or lover. If you've just broken up with someone, turn all the love that you were turning toward the other person back upon yourself. When you are in love, you have energy to spare. You are happy, perhaps obsessively so, as you consider doing special things for that special someone. Do those things for yourself.
Find relief in nature. According to feng shui and geomancy theories, trees, bodies of water, and living plants are all natural sources for healing energy or pranic energy. Prana is the Sanskrit word for life-sustaining or vital energy. When you feel restless, consider that you won't find relief and meaning in the world but rather from within the self.
Notice Apathy
You can use the pendulum-dowsing techniques you've learned in this chapter to help you understand how to treat yourself better. You may not feel energetic enough to pick it up and start, but give yourself the opportunity to begin moving in the right direction again. If you don't move your body, it simply won't work as well. The muscles begin to shrink. Flexibility lessens along with your range of motion. You start to gain weight.
That won't make you feel good about yourself. Life becomes dull. It seems to take a lot of effort to just get motivated to go through your day. It's a snowball effect; things go from bad to worse. Until you shift the energy and start down a different path to becoming fully alive and engaged in your life, the Law of Attraction will continue bringing you the same old stuff.
Healing with Nature's Energies
Seek out a special tree, rose garden, clump of bushes, or gurgling stream. Draw close to such energy sources and stay near while you ponder what ails you. Then suspend your pendulum from your fingers. Sit near the water or circumambulate a boulder, mountain, tree, or bed of flowers. Attune yourself to the feelings of energy in the pendulum.
When you begin to feel tingling sensations in your fingers and arms, tiny buglike movements across your back, warm or cool energy moving along your spine, or a current coursing through your pendulum hand and arm, you can be assured that you are drawing energy from nature. Direct that energy to your heart if it's been broken, or to whatever area in your body most needs it. Allow healing to take place. Perhaps you are grieving and would like to ask the universe or that loved one who has crossed over a yes or no question. Use the pendulum. When you are finished, express your gratitude to the life-giving, fecund Goddess or divine Creator.
Pendulum dowsing can be used to help you clarify a big dream for your life. Perhaps it's been a daydream for a long time and you have decided to work with the Law of Attraction to make it a reality. Do a mind map of your dream. Draw a big circle on a piece of paper and write your dream in the center of the circle. As the energy of your mind flows around the thought of your dream, began drawing spokes originating from the large circle and ending in smaller ones containing all your ideas about making your dream a reality.
Use your pendulum and yes or no questions to clarify details and to help you prepare to-do lists, timelines, and goals. Benjamin Franklin once said that God helps those who help themselves. Update that quote by adding the words “through the Law of Attraction and the many self-help tools available to people today.”
