Worksheet 2: Three Ways to Clarify and Refine a Vision

The Law of Attraction has no bias and does not differentiate between your positive and negative thoughts. It continually responds to your vibration. Words in a positive affirmation make you feel happy, excited, and anticipatory. When you affirm and visualize your desire for something in positive language and images, your feeling creates a magnetic vibration that draws the desired object into your experience. Use the following three techniques to clarify and refine your vision:

  • Correct your declaration language. Use breath work or meditation to move into a quiet, centered place in your mind where you can name and visualize the object, experience, or relationship that you desire to manifest. Tell the universe what it is you want. Notice whether you used any negative words in your statement — for example, “I don't want any more bills.” Check in with your feelings. How does the word bills make you feel? Most likely, it makes you feel negative. Rephrase your statement to include positive terms and get rid of words like don't, won't, and can't. Replace the negative statement with a positive one such as “I desire financial prosperity and the means to easily meet my financial responsibilities.” Now how do you feel? Notice the difference.

  • Fix visualization problems. The mind/body connection ensures that you will experience feelings in response to your mental visualization. Let's say you need to attract powerful and influential people into your career path. Consider the imagery you are using to depict them in your mind. If you see powerful people as stern, harsh, and demanding and bringing into your life more misery, stress, and unreasonable deadlines and responsibilities, you most likely will feel apprehension and dread. Instead, reimagine them as warm, friendly, helpful, generous, and wise associates, perhaps even mentors with a vested interest in helping you advance in your chosen field of endeavor.

  • Eliminate any image that muddies or confuses your vision. Perhaps you dream of having a trim, flexible, and muscular body, but you can't get rid of the extra pounds you gained during a pregnancy. You started a walking program with neighborhood friends and are now eating a healthy, balanced diet and still the weight clings. In your mind, you see yourself in the bikini you wore at eighteen and you are doing affirmations. Why isn't it working?

The problem is that deep down on a subconscious level, you know you can never be eighteen with that same body again. Try taking a picture of yourself as you look today. Adjust your body size using scissors or a computer tool such as Photoshop. You want to create an image that your mind believes is possible to achieve. Psychological experts say that any time there is a struggle between the conscious and unconscious mind, the unconscious wins. You must convince yourself that a flexible and leaner body is possible for the person you are now. Start with a photo image and make it plausible. Paste that image on your refrigerator, bathroom mirror, and scale. Feel gratitude for each pound or inch lost and find positive ways to reward yourself as the Law of Attraction works with you to create a beautiful, strong, healthy, and leaner body.
