A Lab's golden years are a special time. Your Lab has always been one to go for the gusto, but as he ages and starts to slow down, he will appreciate anything you can do to make his life more comfortable. Here are some ways you can help:
Provide soft bedding.
Consider purchasing a heated bed to warm and soothe achy, arthritic bones.
Provide a stepstool or ramp for getting on furniture or into the car.
Allow extra opportunities to go outside to eliminate.
Help him stay active with short walks and gentle games of fetch.
Brush his teeth and schedule regular veterinary cleanings.
Groom him weekly and check for lumps, bumps, or sores that may indicate a problem.
