THE INJURIES AND ILLNESSES DESCRIBED in the previous chapter can be serious, but they're not emergencies. An emergency is a life-threatening situation. It's to be hoped that your Lab will never suffer an injury or illness that's an emergency, but it never hurts to be prepared. Knowing what to do for fractures, bites, choking, and other dangerous health circumstances will help you stay calm and give your Lab a better chance at survival.
