The jinn have long been misunderstood, wrapped in a variety of myths and beliefs in societies around the world. The movie business has made monsters and cartoon characters out of them, but according to the Koran, they are neither. The jinn are creations of Allah, like humans, and are the only other intelligent life form discussed in the Koran. Among them are decent Muslim jinn, as well as evil ones whose job it is to steer humankind off the path to Heaven. More important, their existence is no myth to Muslims.
