A basic way of tying a necktie is by using the Buntline Hitch (illustrated in Chapter 7). First, practice it on a rope. Once you get the hang of it, move on to a necktie.

1 First, practice tying the Buntline Hitch.

2 Now, do the same with a necktie, using the wide part as the running end.

3 Continue, just as in the Buntline Hitch.

4 Snug down and adjust for neat appearance.
