Most people think that any creature that lived millions of years ago and looked like a lizard was a “dinosaur.” The truth is that dinosaurs lived at the same time as many other lizard-like reptiles which weren't dinosaurs! How could you tell the difference? Dinosaurs had very strong hips, with long legs tucked underneath their bodies. This meant that a dinosaur like T. rex could run better than other reptiles who had short legs that stuck out from the sides of their bodies (like a crocodile).

This T. rex fossil looks fierce even when standing still. Can you imagine it taking steps 14 feet long?

Find your way from nose to claw. Don't cross your own path.

The organ that controlled T. rex's sense of smell was almost as big as his whole brain!
