Around, and Around, and Around We Go
This triple whirligig pattern, or “triskele,” is a very old and powerful symbol. Since the ancient Celtic people of Ireland thought that the number 3 was both sacred and magical, they may have believed that this symbol brought good luck and protection from evil. Sometimes the artist would add tiny lines or dots to make the pattern look like an animal, a flower, or a human face.
As you wind your way through this mysterious triskele, find a bird in a nest, an elf in a pointy hat, a fish, two snakes looking at each other, and a bird with a big beak.
