House Call
A pioneer family did not often call a doctor, so every family had a few favorite remedies. To help a sore throat, a piece of moldy bread would be soaked in water, and the mold-water would be used to gargle. Or the person with a cold would have their chest rubbed with goose grease and kerosene!
