Conservation Information

The best way to save our planet's resources is to use less of them! There are many things you can do in your everyday life to save or “conserve.” You can also tell other people about the facts you collect about conservation. Once you have a list of things people can do, you can share that list with your parents, class, and neighbors. You can make up a few cool posters (on recycled paper, of course) and share them at school and in your neighborhood. Start a list of ways to conserve. By the end of this book you will have enough information to make a great informational poster and easy “green guidelines” to live by. Start with simple things like:

  • Make recycling boxes for paper, magazines, newspaper, cardboard, cans, and bottles. Then be sure and use them!

  • Recycle bottles and cans. Help out your parents by returning bottles and cans that have deposits. If you don't have time, bag them all up and bring them to the local Boy Scout or school bottle drive bins.

  • Help your parents recycle shopping bags at your local grocery store.

  • Keep adding to your list over time. Recycling and saving gets addictive!
