Getting Your Neighbors Involved
Your neighborhood may already have many green-minded people in it, but they may not know each other well enough to work together on community green projects. With help from your parents, organize a Neighborhood Cleanu-pin the spring. When the snow melts and all the winter litter appears in your neighborhood and park, pick it up. Plant baby trees. Get local stores to donate refreshments. Have a neighborhood yard sale to get rid of old things without taking them to the landfill. You can also help out elderly neighbors by offering to help them recycle. You can get to know all your neighbors and you'll be helping the environment at the same time.
