Apple-Honey-Glazed Turkey Breast

This is a great recipe, not only used for holiday time, but for a nice family meal. Turkey seems to be a poultry choice many children enjoy!


  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 1 (6-ounce) can frozen apple juice concentrate
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • 4- to 5-pound turkey breast
  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  2. Combine oil, honey, mustard, and apple juice concentrate in a small bowl. Stir well and set aside.

  3. Rub salt, pepper, and garlic onto turkey. Place turkey on a rack in a roasting pan. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.

  4. Uncover, add the honey-mustard glaze and bake for an additional 1 hour.

  5. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Always a Holiday Favorite

As soon as the skin is removed, turkey, especially the breast, is a lean source of protein, low in fat, tasty, and certainly versatile. Cook the carcass up in a soup, make a turkey salad with low-fat mayonnaise, or slice up leftovers into a whole wheat baguette.
