Happy Hour Tapas for Kids
An easy, two-minute packing job—the crunch is just great; it sure feels like a cocktail party!
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 1
- 2 to 3 low-fat string cheeses
- 1 serving whole grain crackers (about 8)
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- 1 large carrot, sliced
- 1 celery stalk, sliced
Cut string cheese into chunks and place in a plastic sandwich bag with the crackers.
Cut up the vegetables, and place in a plastic sandwich bag.
A Great “Finger Food” Idea
Just what you’re looking for: easy, and the kids seem to like the variety of foods. Remember to add a 100-calorie pack of healthier cookies, and their favorite fruit to their lunch box. Avoid packing juice or juice boxes—encourage your kids to be great water drinkers. Juice is full of sugar, and eating the fruit is a much better idea!
