What a Star!
The sun's rays can be used to fill up a battery so it heats buildings, creates electricity, and moves cars. Even if the sun goes behind a cloud, your car will keep you moving because it stores up energy. I guess we're not the only ones interested in solar power.
Sun Fun
When the sun (solar energy) hits some colors, it absorbs more energy than others; this means it gets warmer with some colors than others. Here's a fun activity to see if you can predict which color gets warmer.
Put three thermometers in the sun.
Cover the bulb of the first thermometer with black paper, the second with white paper, and leave the third uncovered.
Predict which one will get the hottest.
Wait five minutes.
Look at the results. Did you predict correctly?
