Kabbalah and Jewish philosophy reached the pinnacle of their impact during the Middle Ages. Many Kabbalists took an interest in philosophical questions. For some the interest occurred before their commitment to Kabbalah; for others it endured throughout their lives and contributed to their exploration of Kabbalah. In certain ways Kabbalah and philosophy addressed similar concerns, though they often came up with significantly different responses to the major religious questions that preoccupied them.
