  • Applicant uses a chronological resume, which doesn't do a good job of highlighting his skills.

After Notes

  • A combination resume is used.

  • This is the best choice for a recent graduate like Chris. Unlike a chronological resume that puts the focus on work history, a functional resume highlights skills while taking into account work history.

  • The second address is removed since potential employers won't know which one to use.

  • Use a cell phone number that will remain active after graduation.

  • An objective is given as it should always be. This allows you to target your resume to certain jobs. If you are applying for jobs in other areas, use a different resume for each one and change the objective accordingly.

  • A Summary of Qualifications highlights special skills and relevant coursework.

  • Experience is presented before education.

  • Within the Experience section, there are sub-categories for each of Chris's major skill areas.

  • Job descriptions are presented as bulleted lists making them easier to read.
