Soon after you become engaged you can, believe it or not, go to stores you like and register for the gifts you would like to receive for your new home. Registration is the process of walking through a store with your fiancé and picking out what you want. Usually these are items that will fill your new home — dishes to eat off of, linens to sleep on, and art to hang on the walls. Your registration should also include Jewish items that you will need in your new home for Jewish rituals and celebrations.
