Every Knee Shall Bow
Paul in his epistle to the Philippian church writes, “at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth,” (Philippians 2:10) echoing Isaiah's prophecy (45:21–23), “there is no other God beside me, a just God and a Savior, there is none beside me. Look unto me and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.”It seems that, if Jesus is what he claims to be, either he could force every knee to bow by simply saying the word, or he wants the bowing to be unforced and motivated by love in the hearts of those bowing.
