It's impossible to understand the spread of Christianity in Ireland without examining the lives of the men and women who made it their life's work to teach others about their new faith — the lives of the Irish saints. We don't know what actually happened and what was added by imaginative storytellers. But that's no reason to dismiss the stories of saints as pure fancy.
