It's All in the Family

Who are the most important people around you? Probably your family, friends, and colleagues. Let's begin by reviewing and expanding your kinship and friendship vocabulary. Then we can describe them a bit and compare some of their characteristics.

Describing People

In Chapter 3 we practiced a bit with adjectives to describe people, places, and things. Let's expand on that list with some more adjectives. You might want to use the dictionary to make a personal list based on the specific characteristics of your own family and friends.

    Imagine you have just met someone during your visit to Peru and you are talking about your family and friends. Listen to your new friend's questions on Track 25 and respond in complete sentences. (The text is not shown here because this is meant to be a more challenging exercise.) Then compare your answers with the sample answers in Appendix D. There are sure to be differences, but you can check the basics.
