Fruit Salad (Phal Ka Salaad)
1 cup strawberries, roughly chopped
1 cup melon chunks
1 cup papaya chunks
1 cup Hung Yogurt (see recipe on page 14)
¼ teaspoon Roasted Saffron (see recipe on page 16)
1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
Prep Time: 15 minutes, plus 20 minutes to chill
Cook Time: None
Use your choice of seasonal fruits for this. I often make a variation using berries alone. Serve chilled and garnished with fresh mint.
1. Combine the strawberries, melon, and papaya in a bowl. Set aside.
2. Whip together the yogurt, saffron, and condensed milk; mix well. Pour the yogurt sauce over the fruits. Chill for about 20 minutes. Serve.
