Renting a Place

If you are ever going to rent an apartment, you need good credit. Perhaps you are at a place in your life where you will no longer rent. If you are already established and settled down, you might have to use the topics previously discussed as motivation to improve your credit. Nevertheless, you never know what will happen — you might find a need to temporarily rent a place. Alternatively, you may have children who have not yet settled down. It is important to let them know that bad credit will limit their choices if they want to rent.

Landlords often pull credit reports on potential tenants. They want to see if you have paid your obligations in the past. Of course, they're kind of extending credit to you by letting you live on their property. In some areas, the rental market is extremely competitive. Having bad credit can mean that a landlord chooses somebody else, and you have to keep hunting for a home.
