Lemonade Sorbet
One bite of this refreshing sorbet will have you reminiscing about the days of backyard ballgames and sidewalk lemonade stands. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS | YIELD: 1 QUART
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup prepared lemonade
- ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan, and stir over medium heat until all of the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool; combine with the lemonade and lemon juice. Cover and refrigerate until cool.
Add to ice cream maker and follow manufacturer's instructions for freezing.
Lemonade Stands
While most commonly associated with school children, the first lemonade stand was set up by a shopkeeper in New York City in 1879. It was so popular that the police had to intervene when it thwarted sidewalk traffic.
