Nosebleed

Horses can bleed from the nose for a variety of reasons. Usually, cold weather exercise can be the cause of a ruptured blood vessel in his nose. This will produce mild bleeding in one nostril. If bleeding occurs in both nostrils, this is an indication that the origin of the rupture is further up in the head. This is a potentially serious condition requiring vet care.
