Donar's Hammer Pils

Only slightly simpler than the helles recipe, compare this to the Boho the Hobo Pils recipe back in Chapter 5. The key difference is that small addition of gypsum. It helps push the hops and drives the beer to an apparently dry finish.

9.00 pounds Pilsner Malt

Extract (for 9.0 pounds of Pilsner Malt)

7.00 pounds Lager Liquid Malt Extract (LME)

Hops

0.50 ounce Magnum (14.0 percent AA) Pellet for 60 minutes

0.50 ounce Splater Select (5.0 percent AA) Pellet for 15 minutes

0.50 ounce Splater Select (5.0 percent AA) Pellet for 5 minutes

Other Ingredients

1 tablet Whirlfloc 1 tablespoon Yeast Nutrient 1 teaspoon Gypsum

Yeast

Wyeast 2206 Bavarian Lager / WLP 830 German Lager

Mash Scheduleg

Saccharification Rest 150°F 60 minutes
