Honey-Glazed Filet Mignon
Filet mignon is the most expensive cut of meat, but there's absolutely no waste and the taste and texture can't be beat.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 6
- 6 4-ounce filet mignon steaks
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, minced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- ¼ cup dry red wine
Season steaks with salt and pepper. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
Add steaks to pan; cook for 4 minutes until easy to turn. Carefully turn steaks and cook for 3–5 minutes until desired doneness. Remove from pan and cover with foil to keep warm.
Add garlic and shallots to pan; turn to medium-high. Cook and stir to loosen pan drippings.
Add honey and wine and bring to a boil. Boil for a few minutes to reduce sauce.
Return steaks to pan and cook for 1 minute to heat through, spooning sauce over steaks. Serve immediately.
