Chopped Broccoli with Lemon Zest
A simple and easy summer dish with a clean, fresh taste. You can garnish this dish with Parmesan shavings or toasted pine nuts.

- ¼ cup water
- 1–1½ pounds broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon lemon zest
- Fresh-squeezed lemon juice, to taste
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper
Heat the water in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli turns bright green and is crisp-tender, about 5 to 6 minutes.
Add the olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; toss to mix, and adjust seasonings as desired.
Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm or at room temperature.
