Island Grilled Pork Patties

Make sure you don't overcook the pork—it will get dry and chewy. Top with your favorite salsa or chutney to finish.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 4
Carb Level: Low

  • 1 pound lean ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 1 teaspoon jerk seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  1. Clean and oil grill rack and place it about 4 inches from the heat source. Preheat grill to medium-high.

  2. Lightly mix together all the ingredients and form into 4 patties, each about 4 ounces.

  3. Grill for 7 to 9 minutes per side, turning once, until cooked throughout. Transfer the burgers to a plate and tent with foil to keep warm.

  4. Let rest for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the juices to reabsorb. Serve hot.
