Citrus Green Beans
Tender and crisp green beans are perked up with lemon and orange juice in this simple side dish.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 6
- 1½ pounds fresh green beans
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- ¼ cup orange juice
- 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon white pepper
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Trim green beans and rinse off. Add to water and bring back to a simmer. Cook for 3 minutes, then drain.
In large skillet, melt butter and add garlic. Cook over medium heat until garlic is fragrant, about 2 minutes. Then add green beans; cook and stir for 3 to 5 minutes or until beans are crisp-tender.
Stir in lemon juice, orange juice, orange zest, salt, and pepper, and heat through.
