Italian cream sodas are a mainstay in some coffee houses and restaurants.

They’re sweet and rich enough to feel like an indulgence.

8 fluid ounces carbonated water

fl fluid ounce passion fruit–flavored syrup

fl fluid ounce watermelon-flavored syrup

1 fluid ounce half-and-half

• Fill a tall glass halfway with ice. Fill to two-thirds with carbonated water

• Pour in the watermelon and passion fruit syrups. (You can also peach or raspberry syrups.

• Float the half-and-half on top. Stir when ready to drink.
