Current trends in health care toward being proactive and emphasizing the patient's responsibility for their own health care status have renewed an interest in alternative medicine. There has also been a trend of dissatisfaction with traditional medicine and traditional practitioners over the past few years. The skyrocketing costs alone have driven many away from traditional medicine. As a result there has been a renaissance of sorts for wellness and alternative approaches to health care.
