This chapter will look at a sampling of harmonica greats who changed the musical world and the way the harmonica was accepted as a serious and enduring instrument. The talent, dedication, and perseverance that these harmonica masters brought to their craft and to the stature of the instrument is inspirational. The accomplishments of these men and women redefined the instrument and gave it the prominence as a solo instrument that it currently enjoys. This is not a complete list of influential harp players, but simply an attempt to highlight a few of the harmonica luminaries who have paved the way.
