If you've remarried and have kids, you're a stepfamily, also called a blended family. One in every three Americans is part of a stepfamily, either as stepparent, stepchild, or stepsibling, and the numbers have nowhere to go but up. That's because 89 percent of men and 79 percent of women remarry within five years of divorcing.
