Mayanists give no credence to the idea of galactic activation portals, and the idea that there were links between the Tzolkin calendar and I Ching is speculative. However, they are both ways of qualitatively describing time. They both tell us what kind of subjective feeling a moment in time should have. This is a quality that is missing in our modern idea of time, where time is treated solely as a quantity. Argüellés's claims are far reaching and visionary, but the elegance of the mathematical harmony that he demonstrates should not be confused with evidence that these ideas are provable.
