Eco-Responsible Vendors

By now you've probably researched companies that offer eco-friendly locations, elegantly green attire, ethical jewelry, natural health and beauty products, handmade paper invitations, green printing services, organic food and beverages, pesticide-free flowers, eco-décor, fabulous favors, and eco-responsible photography.

In addition to these vendors, there are others you might want to work with as you prepare for your wedding day — musicians, deejays, wedding ceremony officiants, wedding coordinators, seamstresses and tailors, bakers — the possibilities go on and on. Any and all of the people you come in contact with or do business with can be green, eco-responsible, or socially ethical in their lives and business practices.

The popularity of green continues to grow and more people are becoming aware of how important environmental issues are. More consumers are becoming eco-minded, and they want to make socially and ecologically wise purchases. This is forcing companies to rethink their ways and incorporate more eco-responsible practices into the workplace in a wide variety of ways, from recycling and buying recycled products to purchasing strictly organic and fair trade.

In 2006, the sales of green/eco-friendly products topped $228 billion in the United States. Because of the vast growth, many companies are more than eager to hop on the green bandwagon and start reaping the benefits of the new trend.

Eco-minded businesses such as Seventh Generation, Bi-O-Kleen, Of the Earth, Burt's Bees, EcoArtware, Greenline Paper, and many others walked down the green path before it was ever cool and trendy to do so. Now that green is going mainstream you will be able to find ecoproducts in many more locations, from your market to big box stores such as Wal-Mart.
