Green Activities
The best way to participate in a green activity is to step outside. Enjoy the fresh air and the natural beauty of the world. Visit your local park, go for a hike, ride your bike along a bike trail, and take part in new experiences. The world is out there waiting to be explored and you can start in your own backyard.
It doesn't matter if you live in a city or out in the country, chances are there is a lot of territory close by that you have not explored. When was the last time you had a picnic in the park? Took a walk on the beach? Visited the local museum, art gallery, or zoo?
One study found that 84 percent of participants feel that “it is a moral obligation” to care for the environment. Seventy-eight percent said they “would be willing to make a lifestyle change for the good of the environment.” The difficulty in separating facts from hype makes it hard for some people to get to the root of the problem and make a solid commitment.
Make it a point to do something new or unusual every day or every weekend. Make a list of all the local places you and your honey should check out. Visit the farmer's market and stock up on locally grown organic produce. Check out all the little art galleries and boutiques along Main Street and support the local artisans and shop owners. Try the new organic deli where you keep meaning to stop for lunch but haven't had the time. Take the time to unwind, unplug, and just simply be. Simplify your life for at least one day a week. Today's world is so full of hustle and bustle that many people never get around to doing the things they really want to do.
