If so, seek out a company that uses renewable sources of power such as solar, wind, low-impact hydroelectric, or geothermal. In some areas, you may also be able to purchase renewable energy credits (RECs) that offset your energy use by supporting renew-able energy programs. Be sure to look for a reliable program like Green-e, a nonprofit group that verifies and certifies RECs.
