Homemade Baby Lotion

Massaging your baby gently with baby lotion is a great way to help her relax and to bond with her. Just be sure that baby lotion does not contain petroleum or petroleum byproducts. Food-based baby lotions, such as those made from apricot-seed, aloe vera, avocado, coconut, olive oil, sunflower, safflower, or vitamin E, are a great choice for babies.

You can also make your own baby lotion using the following recipe:

INGREDIENTS

½ cup honey

½ cup cream

Combine honey and cream in a saucepan and cook slowly over medium heat. Stir continually until the two are well blended. Let the mixture cool for five minutes. Store in an airtight container (preferably glass) in the refrigerator for up to one week. Allow mixture to cool completely before using. Remember, babies younger than twelve months old should not ingest honey for any reason.
